Vice President of Sales

Position Overview:

Lessar Energy is seeking a seasoned and dynamic Vice President of Sales to run and take the reins of the sales department. This role is pivotal for Lessar Energy’s ambitious growth plans and commitment to making a bigger impact through sustainable energy solutions. The immediate challenges for the VP of Sales include spearheading recruitment, hiring, and training initiatives to build a high-performing sales team, and implementing strategies to drive sales. The candidate will be expected to quickly familiarize themselves with the company’s objectives and work towards achieving them.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Building:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the sales team
  • Develop a culture of accountability and performance within the sales team
  • Foster an environment where the team is aligned and committed to the company’s goals
  • Mentor and coach team members, helping them develop and progress in their careers
  • Recruit, hire, and train new sales representatives
  • Conduct sales meetings, 1-on-1 reviews, and quarterly and yearly performance reviews

Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue goals
  • Be data-driven and use analytics to make informed decisions
  • Be hands-on with the sales process, especially in the early stages, to ensure the strategies are effective and the team is on the right track
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts
  • Engage in door-to-door canvassing, work home show events, festivals, and more to promote products

Customer Education and Engagement:

  • Develop programs to educate customers on products and services
  • Actively listen to customers to understand their needs and pain points, which can be used to improve products/services
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers

Market Expansion:

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Develop a market expansion strategy and execute it to achieve company objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in door-to-door sales
  • In-depth knowledge of local markets in Colorado, Texas, Nevada, Idaho, and Arizona
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and navigating regulatory environments
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Experience with technology integration in sales processes
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven crisis management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement change management strategies
  • Strong customer-centric approach
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy sector is an asset
